Peak Power and Remote ON/OFF Control
The MEAN WELL NSP-100 Series includes practical control and peak load functions for system integration. For NSP-100-12, NSP-100-15, NSP-100-24, NSP-100-27, NSP-100-36, NSP-100-48 and NSP-100-60 models, the series supports 200% peak power capability for up to 5 seconds.
The built-in remote ON/OFF control function allows the power supply to be switched externally, making the NSP-100 Series suitable for equipment that requires power sequencing, standby control or external system logic.
Peak Power Capability
The NSP-100 Series supports short-term peak output for 12V to 60V models. For example, NSP-100-24 can provide up to 200W peak power for 5 seconds, while the average output power must remain within the rated power limit.
This feature is useful for applications with temporary high inrush or startup load demand, such as industrial automation equipment, security systems, telecom devices, network equipment and other DC-powered systems.
Remote ON/OFF Control
The remote control function allows the PSU to be turned ON or OFF through the RC+ and RC- control pins on CN1. According to the function manual, the power supply remains ON when RC+ to RC- is open or kept at 0–0.8Vdc.
The output turns OFF when RC+ to RC- is kept at 3.3–10Vdc by external voltage. This makes the NSP-100 Series practical for systems that require remote power switching, external control logic or standby operation.
Control Connector Information
The NSP-100 Series uses a remote ON/OFF connector interface with RC+ and RC- pin assignment. This control interface helps simplify integration into industrial equipment, automation systems, network devices and other enclosed power supply applications.
